We went down to Andover from York last week. Our friends live 230 miles away.
I filled up with E10 Tesco fuel before we left and did the round trip on one tank.
Average was 56mpg according to the trip computer. Admittedly there was quite a bit of 50mph on the M1 but in the winter I find that mpg more than acceptable. I had more than 40 miles left when I got home. Sport mode all the way.
Engine wise the car hasn’t missed a beat in over four years and almost 30k.
MPG
That’s awesome, sounds like your car’s been really reliable! Getting 56mpg on a long trip, even with some slower traffic, is pretty solid. I’ve noticed that when I’m driving at those speeds, the fuel economy holds up better than I expect, especially in the winter. It’s great to hear your engine’s been going strong after 30k miles—always a nice feeling when the car just keeps running smoothly!

I'm just about to return my 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid mHEV ST-Line at the end of its three year lease. I'll have done just shy of 65,000 miles at almost exactly 50 mpg. Most of my driving has been up and down the A1 from Cambridge to North Yorkshire, and one thing has puzzled me throughout the three years: consumption from Cambridge up to Yorkshire has consistently been higher than consumption back down to Cambridge, to the tune of 2 or 3 mpg. Can anyone explain that? As far as I know, I drive the same in both directions! Is it maybe uphill to Yorkshire?!

Been reading through this tread and found it interesting.
I'm about to by my first Puma, 72 Plate.
I've got the choice of two. Both 1L EcoBoost. But one is 125BHP and on is 155BHP (or whatever the two variations are). The 155BHP one is looking the better deal of the two from the ford dealership.
I wondered if anyone could input on fuel economy please...
I totally get that 'official' figures can vary compared to real life examples. I also understand that MPG is down to individual driving styles. So that's not what I'm looking for input on. Official figures suggested the 155BHP one is 5mpg less economical than the 125BHP one.
However, HonestJohn - real MPG, suggest that the 155BHP, is actually every slightly more economical the the 125BHP. So my question is: What are peoples owned experience of these who actually own one.... especially the 155BHP.. please
Wierdly, with my insurer, the 155BHP is the cheaper of the two to insure too, only by £35pa, but a savings is a savings.
Thank you in advance.

I have owned both 125 & 155 Autos over the last 4 years, and the mpg is almost the same for both on identical journeys.creativeguyuk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 4:41 pm I wondered if anyone could input on fuel economy please...

Just to add, I had the 125 manual and now have the 155 Auto....Very little (if any) difference in the MPG.
