You mentioned Colour choices well to me paint colours are subjective, you also said the steering wheel is squared off as too see the full display which is wrong, I've the pre face lift wheel in the car and the full drivers binnacle display is easily viewed
Only relaying what the dealer said about the wheel. Why did you fit the pre-facelift steering wheel.
The car comes with the standard ST steering whee, when you get the handling package l
My only beef with the facelift model is I am not keen on the front part of the centre console and the manual heating controls are missing. I find that auto settings never work for me and travelling on a busy motorway at night with it raining is not ideal having to take your eyes off the road to see where the heating controls is. That was on a Peugeot 208. Not ideal and bloody dangerous. Let's hope NCAP see it that way too.

There's also a few things wrong with the pre-facelift as well which at over £30k for my model, these should be sorted. Seats were much better in our Mokka SE costing nearly half this, as was the steering feel. Not sure why Ford can't get this right as my Kuga is exactly the same and is very twitchy. Road noise is bad on the Puma I have.

The car is what it is and has a lively engine with a very smooth gearbox. I would possibly have another but if Nissan tweaked the power output of their Juke then it could be a contender.

The main thing is to enjoy the positives of the car as none are perfect.

So 4 weeks into ownership
1.The Mrs loves it far easier to drive than the Fiesta ST3
2.Its a head turner,it's a good looking car in this spec
3. Continental tyres are not the best in the winter,Pzeros far better tyres
4.Pre- collision warning has activated 3 time's,when it wasn't required
5.Matrix headlights failing warning light,no headlights for most of 1 journey
6.Under powered,Tdi tuning box...to be fitted.
7.steering in normal mode lacks any kind of feeling.
8.at this time of the year, yet to push the handling to its limits.
9.Steering in Sport mode is far better
10.Gearbox lag in normal mode is bad.
11.Suspension/Damping is very good all things considered, makes you think your driving a limousine compared to the Fiesta ST3.
12.Too many nanny aids,lane assist,speed warning chimes,pre collision,cross traffic alert...etc etc

GAF1975 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 11:03 am Hi what are folks thoughts on the New Puma ST 170 against the New Puma ST Line X 155 my current Puma ST LINE X 125 is now due for change and I'm fancying a wee bit more performance also not that taken with the wheel options on the New Puma. Thoughts please. GAF

I had a Puma ST Line X - 155ps, now have the Puma ST 170ps. Within a literal 3 minutes of pulling off the forecourt, I hit an unavoidable pothole on a dual carriageway and bent the rim, got a flat spot on the face of it :x

I'm sure it didn't help that the dealership left the tyres inflated to 40psi all round lol. There's a massive difference in the harshness of the ride (Probably obviously) in comparison to the ST Line X, it was so soft and floaty, you could take a speed bump at 30mph no problem... But definitely not in the ST, comfortably at 10/15mph. I now find myself bobbing and weaving around potholes, drain covers and shadows. But I love it. Plenty of power surprisingly (1.0l). Handles well and sounds great, seats are comfortable, though a little more of a squeeze to get in over the bolster but you'll get used to it so long as you're nimble enough.

The Adaptive Cruise Control is amazing, it drives itself and does it well. You have to keep your hands on the wheel as it will give you a warning every so often. But it will steer itself around bends in the pitch black darkness of night perfectly, it doesnt bounce off the lines side to side like in my ST Line X (2022).

The only grumble I'm having is the automatic highbeam, they turn themselves on randomly, almost flashing on and off whilst directly behind a vehicle when the street is lit by streetlights.

It never fails to amaze me the number of drivers that just go crashing through clearly visible potholes...I see it all the time. I am always scanning the road ahead for potholes and always steer round them when I see one.

Auto high beam should not activate when there is street lights, so yours is obviously not behaving correctly.

The near side DRL is dimmer than the off side DRL on the Puma,I noticed it weeks ago ie not long after we picked the car up,it's annoying, I've got a few gripes with the car,but overall its a great car, can't wait to give it a machine polish and maybe apply a ceramic coating come the spring

I had a little play with the gearbox in S mode today, then put the engine into Sport mode,in those settings, it really feels like an ST,still waiting on the arrival of the Tdi tuning box, as the factory engine tune still lacks torque

It would be great to know how you get on with the TDI when you've had the chance to try it.

5.Matrix headlights failing warning light,no headlights for most of 1 journey
I think you got yours around the same time as mine arrived. If you are still having a problem with the Matrix lights, and it's not the condensation problem you may want to get the dealer to try the below...

SSM 53164 Puma (2024-) - Adaptive headlight functions temporarily unavailable, DTC B1041, U0538 Puma MCA High Series vehicles built from 1st Julv 2024 mav exhibit the DTC B1041 (Levelling Control) and the DTC U053B (Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A) generated by the HCM (Headlamp Control Module) while the warning "Adaptive headlight functions temporarily unavailable" appears at the start of the journey. This error heals itself during the journey and the customer can continue to drive the vehicle without concerns. To correct this condition a software update is available in FDRS. Please update the HCM module to the latest level. After that, place the vehicle on level ground and run the calibration routine on the HCM (Ref. FDRS App: "HCM Calibration G2149860-4.0").
