Toyota are bringing out 600 mile EV's over the next 2 years....That sort of range should boost take up of EV's as long as the prices drop to make them affordable to the mainstream of buyers at the same time.

Are you all aware that the UK govt have mandated to car manufacturers precisely the minimum percentage of xEV they must sell each year? It's called the Zero emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate and is an increasing percentage between now and 2030:
2024: 22%
2025: 28%
2026: 33%
2027: 38%
2028: 52%
2029: 66%
2030: 80%

It doesn't matter what customers want. Manufactures will price adjust vehicles to meet those percentages. xEV market share will only go up.

Don't forget, the longer the range the longer it will take to charge for the majority of people who don't use high power chargers. I think it was Toyota or Nissan who were looking to introduce solid state batteries which are meant to be cheaper, lighter, not impacted by the weather and able to get a much higher range which would be a lot better. The current offerings are not feasible, so I wouldn't consider an EV (again) until things change.
