Clutch, brakes suspension, electrics. Ran it for about 4 years and bought a Talbot alpine from auction which had excellent bodywork but second gear was shot. Must have been an early Puma box lol. Had to go from first to third. Second hand box and all was good. Dead easy to swap on those. I ended up knowing that much on the Alpine I bought an Horizon for my wife when she passed her test.Sparks wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:56 amAhh...The Marina. I had 6 of those. We had a chap at work who bought and sold them and fixed them up. I think the most I paid was £200, I'd swap them up if he got a better one in. Better meant anything from less rust and nicer paint to a better engine....they got me through the hard times.Smartguy67 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 10:23 pm
I agree. Makes you wonder if Ford work like the government where they have ministers in place who have no experience of what they are the minister for.
I drove my mates Capri just the once and the only thing I can remember now is the bump in the bonnet. Am sure it driove nice compared to the Marina I owned.![]()
They had the same engine as the old Morris Minors and I never had one breakdown on me and some of them had huge mileage tallies...![]()
Cars were a lot easier to work on in those days but it's nice not having my head under the bonnet or under the car every weekend.
Never really had a bad car that's blown up and the only time they stopped is when I ran out of fuel. Little money, little fuel in those days.

Very faint memory for me. My dad was extremely mechanically handy so taught me everything I know. Quite ironic really as in later years I was the one helping him out with things he struggled with. I always enjoyed working on cars and motorbikes but dad steered me away from doing it for a living. Before I bought the Kuga I used to do my own oil changes and servicing but now I have turned into my dad and let the garage do it. I do brakes, wipers, filters, bulbs and that's as far as I go now apart from the laptop and Forscan.Sparks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 2:23 pmYep...can't remember if it was 4 or 6, I only had a hand gun...Smartguy67 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:19 pmYou mean the ones on the weird front suspension. So Went here today for a tour

What a treat and have to say exceptional rum, and I’m not a spiced rum fan, but this does not have the vanilla bomb I dislike in others, and what a revelation, had a few glasses already
Exceptional rums and all the tasting was exquisite lovely guy and recommend his rums which tasting some that aren’t released yet, will be a big add to my drinks list
Round of applause

ST Performance Grey Matter (Performance Pack / Drivers Assistance Pack / Dark Wheels & Power Tailgate)
Nice one....Personally I'm a fan of hints of Vanilla.
Loads of independent rum distillers in the UK. I found a few like DropWorks, Lazy Dog, Scratch Spirits and Mainbrace.
A great site to scope out a few others.....https://www.therum.company/about .
I have a full cabinet at the moment, but might give that Revival a try in the new year....Thanks for the heads up....

I have purchased 2 new Alloys ie handling pack style, as I had a infringement with the roadside,£600 for 2 ,I also purchased 2 new Continental 7's even though the tyres on the damaged wheels have covered only 6k miles,2 damaged alloys are easily refurbished, but I preferred buying new as its not as much of inconvenience, the tyres and the alloys will be up for soon of anyone is interested the alloys can be refurbished prior to sale with the price increased obviously
Puma ST with pano roof and handling pack
