Time to say goodbye. Enjoyed the fourm.
Traded in my v-early build Mean Green ST Puma in for new 2024/5 Focus ST Edition. (1 of only 300) The very last of many
I got a little over 50% £ back on my purchase price of the Puma as trade against the new car. (Had 25k miles, unmarked, Mountune modified and 5yrs old)
I loved the Puma, I was thinking to buy an EV, but in the end they just didn't do it for me...
I had quite forgotten how good the Focus could be. The end of an era I think.
Good luck in the future and thanks for your contributions.....

I’ve had a few Focus ST’s and still got one. More substantial and refined car than a Puma/Fiesta. Although your suspension is going to keep you awake! At least it’s adjustable. Your px value seems a bit low although 50% of what? We paid 28k for our loaded Puma ST in mid 21 and still being offered around £18k, not modified though, that always hits the value in the trade and we only have 16k miles on it. Another bonus is the 2.3 engine, it’s a peach albeit unnecessarily detuned and a bonus is the economy isn’t much different to the 1.5 Puma driven like for like. High 30’s in Mk4 ST’s is easily achievable and more if you really want it.

Is that a part exchange price because it seems very much on the high side.
My Puma ST which I paid £29,800 is exactly 2 years younger than yours and has only covered 4000 miles, yet webuyanycar are only offering £18,930.
Maybe not the best reflection on price but its a good reference point.

From my own point of view the current focus external styling is a bit marmite, I personally don't like it,on the other hand Azura blue is an amazing paint colour,I looked at ordering a ST edition focus in Azura blue in October last year but was quoted an April delivery, but £43k buys you a lot more car with a VW badge on it

No not px, only ask for px when i,ve got all proper offers in. That is Carwow, motorway, Arnold Clark etc trade selling price. We Buy any Car not been great lately
Just done a fresh valuation, down slightly, Carwow 17540 Motorway 17260. WBAC 17000. Yes less than £2k more for a car half the age and 12k miles less is disappointing. Ours does have everything but the not wanted glass roof, performance and drivers and parking packs probably make a difference. Maybe this shows the long running ST trend of dropping to a price then hanging onto it with very slow depreciation. The Mk3.5 Focus ST and the early MK4’s are holding price well. A good 2018 ST is still retailing for high teens. I sold my previous mk3.5 18 plate over 3 years ago for £19 k with 11000 miles , they sell for £16 + now ( over 4 years later) with about 40k!

Nobody in their right mind pays anywhere near screen price for a Ford. I’ve bought dozens over the years and always expect to find a minimum of 10% discounts. But your right that 43k for a Focus is stupid, but is equally so for a Golf , the current Golf is equally cheaped down. They are trying to get us mugs to compensate their EV disasters
My son had a Focus ST edition and was going to get another one, but his usually good dealer could not give him a good price for his one or a good deal on the new one.
He was speaking to someone he knows at a BMW dealer and got himself one of these for less than the new Focus would have cost him

Thats the dilemma that a lot of people face...do you buy brand new or older used which could allow you to step up a class or two for similar money.
The M2 is a beautiful looking beast of a car, although if I was buying new my sensible head would choose the M240i.
How old is the M2?
