Buzz and Click

Sorry about the somewhat obtuse thread title !
Can anyone tell me why my car, when fully locked and is sitting on my drive, will, randomly, for no apparent reason "buzz" for a couple of seconds, followed by a slight click. ?

Ive heard this, and not just on my Puma.
I assume it is certain components powering down.

Even though the car hasn't been used for 24 hours ?

I was only speaking about minutes after locking which is quite common.
I have never heard any car making noises 24 hours after being sitting locked.
