it is fun but....
Why do some people in here think they are always right? I have tested mine today in Eco and then sport, there is a massive difference, in Eco its terrible with no go whatsoever. So, I'm sorry, there is a difference and your wrong!
Full fat ST in fantastic red, pan roof and electric tailgate.
that's true , eco is 82 foot o floor , sport accelerates alot more past this , sport is quicker.from standpoint
trail is good on loose gravel but the back kind of swings out since traction is off .
slippery I haven't tried that yet (wait till winter)
When I tested the throttle response when I first got my Puma heres were my findings - I pressed the pedal on Normal till I was at 3000 rpm then switched to different modes
DISCLAIMER: These are my own opinions and results due to simply my experiences driving the car and are not by any means officially verified
Sport had Normal Response (stayed at 3,000 rpm) but was louder probably due to higher fuel injection (this probably is what makes it a bit more nippy especially in the lower gears)
Eco / Trail had a Medium response in they both sat at ~2,000 rpm
Slippery had a low response in sitting ~1,250 rpm
Also Regen braking for Slippery/Eco/Trail/Normal is only Mild
Regen braking for the above though is increased to Firm when the Speed Limiter is active (speed within the limit)
Regen Braking for Sport is Strong (Maybe a little more than the Limiter value)
Steering for Eco / Normal is set at Normal
Steering for Slippery / Sport is set at Heavy
Steering for Trail I think is set at slightly lighter than Normal / Eco (in my experience)
Also I have also noticed that Suspension (maybe just more with the bounce after a bump) seems to be linked with the Steering
For the Heavier steering the bounce seems to be stiffer (more uncomfatable)
For the Normal this seems to be a tad softer
Trail seems to have the most forgiving bounce of them all (although I wouldn't exactly call it Soft by any means)
Also when first pressing the accelerator Trail has a softer start off than the other modes and once going seems to have the same response as Eco (maybe this is to avoid wheel spin on loose surfaces)
For this reason I use Trail when in wet conditions (if im not going around fast corners that is) as the combination of slower start off and mild throttle responce seems to make it very hard to loose grip and spin the wheels in the wet
I'm not concerned for the Traction Control being disabled - I have never lost control braking or such just because TC is turned off
Also Sport mode (in non ST) Stop/Start is turned off automatically (but can be turned back on by pressing the button)
In Trail mode Stop/Start is disabled and cannot be turned on at all (I think this is the same for Sport and Track mode in ST versions)
So in wet I use Trail
On quieter/country roads i'd use Sport
In colder/snowy conditions id use Slippery
I just can't find a reason to use Eco?????
I have never done a full pedal press comparing different modes but i'd love to see the results if anyone has them

Ford Puma Vignale Magnetic 155bhp Manuel - Panoramic Roof + Drivers Pack + Power Tailgate + Spare Tyre
Because of my type of commute I don't really use Sport mode but having read this I tried it a couple of times this week and it seems like the battery deploys a bit more eagerly in that mode so it'll be interesting to see if anyone does do some timings in the modes to see if there's any difference.
