Not unless they use the supplied fuel filler funnel that’s freely available to buy.
I wondered how long it would be before somebody mentioned this.
This would mean they are dedicated to a single purpose and are going equipped to do it, so there is very little that will stop them.
This really is a non story!

Good GREEN choice. :D (sorry.. had to)

I'm sure you will not regret it. It's a nice and fun drive. If you still, on the road, forget before the gas station on which side the cap is, just look at the fuel meter on the dash. The small triangle beside the "gas pump" icon. The direction the triangle points is the side your cap is. :) It's a feature that has been on cars a long time.

I do like how it looks in green and black, especially with the black roof. The Lucid red and black go ok with the interior on the STX 1.0 that has the red stiching. the ST 1.5 is not so red i believe on the interior. Sunroof or brighter interior helps with keeping some light inside, making it feel much more spacious than it is.

Having driven a manual Kuga mk1 before i felt the 1st gear ended early, second started late. The gear ratio on Puma i feel is a bit better but a tad on choosing whether to have 3rd or 4th gear on. But it drives alright either calm or a bit more "nippy" driving. but the middle ground is so and so. Just never postpone an oil change on the Puma. It needs to be good all the time in these ecoboosts, even with timing chain (since ecoboost 2019 upgrade) due to the way the engine is designed, so it will last a long time. As mentioned disc brakes might wear pretty fast so those are good to keep in shape as well.

I might be wrong but doesn't the fuel cap lock when the car locks?

Do you have the electric tailgate? Love that accessory and also those GT lookalike full leds. Good choice. Enjoy your new Puma :)

The fuel flap does not lock on the Puma, and it didnt lock on my 2015 Focus either.
I would assume that no Ford flaps lock because of the 'Easy Fuel' system that Ford have been using for years that makes theft much more difficult.
In any case these flaps are made of plastic and if locked could very easily be broken into with a screwdriver.
Really, I must be thinking of my many VAG’s , BMW’s etc etc !? I just assumed these were locking with the central locking.

No need to be concerned because that can't happen with any Ford equipped with the 'easy fuel' system....which should pretty much all of them nowadays.
Remember though...anybody that is that way inclined and determined enough is not going to be put off by simple locks that are easy to break.
I wanted to add some fuel treatment to my mk4 ST tank for a lay up and couldn’t find the funnel. I managed to get the bottle neck past the mechanism fairly easily after a few attempts. It would be similar with a thief’s hose except they wouldn’t be so careful and cause expensive damage no doubt.

I have not tested it but this is the very thing Fords Easy Fuel system is designed to prevent from happening, so it would be a massive fail if any old hose would be able to push open the flap and slide down into the tank.
Although as I mentioned earlier, very little is going to stop somebody that is determined enough.

I think they usually have a grill of bars in the pipe to stop the chance of syphoning.
