It's great fun, really is. It's comfortable. It's economical. It's not a Porsche or Ferrari, it's a Ford!
It actually makes very little difference to the performance, and this ST is slower compared with the previous non hybrid Puma ST.
Having said that and together with the automatic gearbox it will feel quick and effortless on the road, so as you say just enjoy it for what it is. :)

I traded an Audi Q3 (TFSIe plug in hybrid) for this as was downsizing costs, and I must say recognising that this is a smaller car etc, I've stopped comparing now, and am over the difference in build quality etc.

Be interested to know its “honest” real world economy ? I had a test of a Fiesta 155 mhev manual a couple of weeks back ( reminded me what a brilliant car Fiesta’s are, stupid Ford!) It averaged 48mpg over about 50 miles of mixed steady economy driving. The performance was ok, but nothing startling and certainly no traffic light gp winner. I followed that with a similar lengthy test of the mk 4 Focus 120 diesel which managed 61mpg and felt almost as quick (or slow) as the Fiesta and almost as engaging to drive but with a bit more panache.

But if you drive a 1.5 ST then any Ford is going to seem slow with exception to the Focus ST.

Wasn’t comparing to ST, and tbh I don’t find the ST200 a fast car, it’s got a nice amount of shove for what it is and wouldn’t want any more in a Puma. I have and have had much much faster cars

Interesting reading all the comments. Am not a fan of the new facelift model. Have too many extras on mine including mud flaps all round so going to keep her next October. My friend has changed her ST for the new one so I can have a shot of that but I do like my steering wheel to be round and you can get that as an addition with driver pack but will wait and see :)

My 3 years is up in a couple of months and with a £14500 balloon at the end. Nothing interests me and certainly not the 1.0 ST. I will be keeping it as i still enjoy the drive.
Full fat ST in fantastic red, pan roof and electric tailgate.

Might be an idea to take up the extended warranty if you are keeping it.

Whilst I still feel these "new" ST's should really be badged as an "S" (like those 1.0 fiestas a number of years back that either came in black with a red roof or red with a black roof) I must say that if you have to get a Puma, you really should get the ST.

My 1.5 has been in the dealer all week trying to finally get to the bottom of the sensor errors I was having and for that time, I have had a 125hp Puma on loan. Not wishing to upset owners of these, but I hated every minute of driving it. The driver input is so poor that it feels more like said input is asking the car to do something rather than telling it.

I am assuming that unless driving like an idiot and trying to get the rear to pivot round, these handle the same as the 1.5.

Oh and as for ride comfort, I didn't find the loaner rode any better over poor road surfaces, so I still don't get these people thnking the ST has a really harsh ride!? For me, the ST only starts to be a bit bouncy when the tyres are getting to the end of their life
