Hi what are folks thoughts on the New Puma ST 170 against the New Puma ST Line X 155 my current Puma ST LINE X 125 is now due for change and I'm fancying a wee bit more performance also not that taken with the wheel options on the New Puma. Thoughts please. GAF

Purely on cost if you add the 3 options to an ST Line X 155 that are standard on an ST, then the difference makes the ST Line X only £150 cheaper.
Both have more or less the same torque, but the ST accelerates to 62mph 1.3 seconds quicker.
ST has a nicer style of wheel (although some people dont like all black wheels) and more supportive sports seats (again some people dont like seats like this).
The choice is entirely down to your own personal preference.

If I was going to downgrade to the new Facelift version, I'd go for the ST, for all the reasons Ron states...🤷‍♂️

Hi, I was in the same situation before I ordered my new facelift Puma ST 170. As already mentioned if you want the optional extras on ST line x to match the ST it's a no brainer in my opinion. ST definitely looks sportier, plus has disc brakes on rear, where ST line x only drums at the back..
Although I must admit I prefer the look of the ST line x seats to the Ford performance ones.

Good luck with your choice.

Hi I was going to order the new facelift ST due the reasons already stated, they had an older ST so tried this and could not live with the seats in the ST, felt like i was hemmed in and pushing my shoulders forwards. Which was a shame so had to order ST line-X and spec this as I wanted. Just a shame no more Vignale

STLine X in 155 trim should have rear disc brakes. At least with the drums they won't be corroded at 2 to 3 years old like some have reported

After fitting new Ford discs and Brembo pads to my ST200 there is a very noticeable difference to the disc wear characteristics compared to the Ford pads. The new discs now have a very smooth shiny disc surface. The Ford pads, as well as leaving unswept rusting areas had a less smooth (if you know what I mean) surface elsewhere. Looks like the issue was caused by the pads. Might have been a bad batch or just poor quality pads.

There is a very simple way to answer this question based on precisely how it was written.
No.

Thanks for the heads up guys.
As some of you said once I had added a few extras to the ST Line X it wasn't much difference price wise so deal done today and a Solar Silver ST is on its way home :P should be a nice upgrade from my current Puma which has been a joy to own.
