Rusty rear discs

Why do manufacturers insist on changing things that have been good for years. Nothing wrong with the rear brakes on the Kuga as an example. No special clips or anything which could prove problematic. The only issue is the pin centres on the piston as hilka and laser ford wind back tool doesn't fit.

Yes, I don’t like them, but the clips have the effect of pulling the pads back off the disc, so probably a fuel saving thing and probably the reason they rust badly on the friction surface if they don’t get used enough. I don’t think the Fiesta ever switched to these calipers. Need to add that after 12500 k the rear pads were barely hslf worn, but wrecked by the manky discs
£500 they're having a laugh, anyone who pays that either have a screw loose or have more money than sense.
