Well based on past performance (the ex- Financial Adviser in me) I would say wait for the new model.

Pros -

Will hold its price better
Sync 4 and a much bigger screen
Better lighting?
360 deg camera
Better looking Interior apart from the horrible steering wheel.

Cons - will cost more.
Not your colour
Not a Vignale (but for me that’s a pro as I prefer the look of the ST Line X)

Remember too that when a facelift comes out the old model usually depreciates much faster unless it’s highly sought after.

As said choice is yours ultimately.
Try carwow etc to see if you can get a better deal on the facelift model.

Thanks everone.
Carwow does not have the facelift to choose from yet, but I have spoken to a few ford dealers and they all say they can not do 0% APR on a facelift and on top on top of that production start is planned for April so realistically August for the car, without delays, thats too long for me.
I can enjoy the car six months earlier, save a few grand off the retail price + some extra's and get 0% APR.

Spoke to the delar and told them I will keep the existing order (6 weeks)

As they are dropping the Vignale, the current one may hold it's price a little better than the others. Who knows in the crazy market place?
I won't be getting another one unless they offer an amazing deal which I doubt will happen.

I personally prefer the pre face lift. I will be keeping mine.
I don’t like the dash or steering wheel. But this is a personal thing. If I didn’t already have a puma I would get the facelift.

I don’t rate the interior as an improvement, the stripped out design is awful and boring. No climate panel is a big step backwards and 100% cost cutting. The sync 4 has proved riddled with bugs and common for it to go into a checker board, making operation of most functions including the heating/ventilation impossible. Ford takes forever to sort out software bugs leaving you in limbo. Just check out the issues on Focus Forums. The front end is more ugly too, transit clone. Plus 1.0 and auto, absolutely no thank you.

Apart from the Ford badge relocated to the grille and different headlight internals, most people will be hard pressed to notice any difference.
Personally I prefer the look of the facelift.
As for the interior...after a while the new interior will be accepted by the majority and the old one will look dated.
I am definitely with you on the dropping of the 1.5 engine though.

Apart from the sliding armrest the 'facelift' is not exactly drawing me towards it.
No interest in Sync 4 or any other iteration of Sync including 3.5....

So do you like or dislike the facelift...and if the latter what changes are making you dislike it?

It’s difficult to not be totally synical of Ford. They have done nothing but chop away degrading cars for the last few years, often for the sake of pence. Fitting a cheap “old” technology lcd screen instead of proper controls for the likes of the heating and radio is certainly not an improvement or making it more modern in any way. I refuse to be so gullible and falling for this marketing con trick. It’s bloody awful. If they put decent graphics on the drivers screen it would be better instead of toy town bezel-less and numberless imitation clocks. At one time you looked forward yo a face lift car, not any more, it’s just a wait and see what else they’ve nicked out of the car yet still want more for it. There are many cars I would buy before a so called face lift Puma.
